National Geographic Out of Eden Journey

PAUL’S YOUNGEST TRAVEL COMPANIONS: OUT OF EDEN IN THE PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and National Geographic Fellow Paul Salopek is retracing on foot our ancestors’ migration out of Africa and across the globe. His 21,000-mile odyssey begins in Ethiopia and ends seven years later at the tip of South America. (National Geographic, 2013)

Carefully selected, age appropriate, sections of Paul's "trail notes" and photographs of his journey on the National Geographic website have inspired many meaningful learning investigations in our classroom!

To learn more about our classroom investigations, please read Mrs. McLean's post on
Harvard University's Walk to Learn Blog.  Click here: Post

**Please use caution when sharing Paul's "trail notes" and photographs with children as his writing is geared toward an older audience.
